- Baldie drove himself all the way to the club entrance. A woman sat in the car. At first glance, she looked a bit like Madison Sawyer—though compared to Madison’s soft, pure vibe, she was way off.
- Baldie warned her, dead serious, “This is important—more important than my own stuff. I wouldn’t hand it to you if I didn’t trust you. And watch your back.” He still wasn’t at ease and asked, “You sure you brought everything?”
- The woman nodded and smiled. “Got it. I’ll play it by ear. Relax.” She patted the side of her cocktail dress. “It’s all here. I’ll call you if I need to.” Then she pushed the door open and walked into the club.
