Chapter 1132 Interlude (XI)
- Chadwick Fullner pressed a hand on Yasmin Langston’s shoulder. “Keith will be fine. When he wakes up, I’ll talk him through it. That line you’ve been waiting to hear—I’ll make sure he says it to you. In his heart, he’s been waiting for a chance too. No one gave him one, or even when it was right in front of him, he didn’t have the guts to grab it. But don’t let that one line, that so-called chance, wreck the happiness you two could have. You’ve already lost too much. From here on, hang on tight to what’s good.”
- Yasmin nodded through tears. Madison Sawyer handed her a tissue. She took it and wiped hard at her cheeks. Chadwick looked at her and said, “Forget everything else for now. Nothing’s bigger than Keith. We stay right here and wait for him to wake up. And Yasmin, save the sulking and the payback for later. Once Keith is fully recovered, we’ll go hard on him. If you want him kneeling on instant noodles or a durian, you call it. Cat Mountain King or Golden Pillow? I’ll have the supplier drop a truck at the front door. And he’s only allowed to kneel till the shells crack—no skipping the eating. If he slacks, he keeps kneeling…”
- “Cut it out, you jerk! That’s brutal.” Yasmin couldn’t help laughing through her tears. “If I don’t feel bad for him, I at least feel bad for the durian.” She turned toward the ward, and the sadness surged back. “What’s happening to Keith? He can’t have anything serious…”
