Chapter 62 Another Piece Of The Puzzle

  • On the other side of the world, another piece of the puzzle was being located by Jett. It didn't take her long to find the missing daughter of her family's line, though this was the human side of the family that hadn't been cursed as Jett's children. Her eyes were now on Bree, the human line of her people whose blood had yet to be tarnished. With the sickness that was now spreading throughout the States, she feared that evil plaque would find the pure blood of the family that could infiltrate and destroy them from within. The only way to save the family and possibly find a way to bring the family peace was when their world had turned upside down. It was for her to intercept the last line of her line, even if the girl was the only mortal of the family. This was just the start for Jett to right the wrongs of the past and prevent the horrors that had already begun. And with a heavy heart, Jett managed to find the young woman before it was too late. Teleporting herself back to where it all had started in Eastern Europe, after some time, she watched the young girl who didn't look much older than Bianca, but she could see that the girl had some of the family's traits that made her stand out. Still, the difference between Bree and Isadora and Bianca was that Bree was mortal with a hidden secret within her blood.

  • Bree Valadez had only been out of college for two years, and still, her heart wasn’t set on what she wanted to do with her life. She didn't have to work or go to school; her great-grandparents left her their entire estate because she was the sole survivor of her family who wasn’t behind bars or a disgrace to the family. She wasn’t spoiled like most of her friends, who had a similar lifestyle but didn’t feel she belonged in her social group either. At the same time, her friends were marrying for money or taking on their dreams like a storm. She felt stuck. She didn’t care much for me during my two years in college. She did take some training courses that would help her until she figured out what she wanted to do. Bree, having gone through community college, was given 20% of her inheritance because she would go for four years at a prestigious university at the time. Still, instead, she changed her mind and went in a different direction. She was happy to take some trips overseas, especially to Eastern Europe. It was where her great-grandparents had left her a home that had been in the family for centuries. However, because she was technically the only member of her line left, she named the place Mirror Lake. Honestly, she was looking forward to moving to a whole new country; maybe, in some ways, she thought it would be a sure way of finding herself. She thought about writing novels but could never get her mindset, and now that she was moving to another country, she was hoping for some inspiration. Mr. Patrick Horne and Mrs. Jessica Cruz had worked for her parents ever since Bree was born. Now, they were all she had in this world and were her adoptive parents. When Bree went to community college, instead of getting a lavished place, something easily obtained, Bree rented an apartment and wanted to fly under the radar. Mrs. Cruz kept the condo clean and helped Bree manage her bills and monies, while Mr. Horne was Bree’s bodyguard, but he was also her trainer and instructor when it came to learning the defense and how to take care of herself in case something ever happened to either him or Mrs. Cruz. Bree didn’t want to stand out in a new place, especially somewhere new. Patrick had worldly experiences such as knowing and speaking several languages and learning how to defend themself and was more like a silent giant who smiled and said very little. Mrs. Cruz was more talkative, but the two were different in many ways, even though they were unmarried. Bree always wondered if there was something else between the two of them. Mr. Horne was driving the vehicle to where her new home would be; she relied on him to ensure that updates and renovations were on time while she was in school. She had to trust him because he knew exactly what needed to be done, and of course, Bree had added some of her touches. Though her great-grandparents had other estates in the State, those were now being used as rentals, and some homes were used as hotels and restaurants. Thanks to Mrs. Cruz, she hired them, and they were well established. Bree kept an eye on the places, though she wasn’t physically there with the businesses. She, however, kept tabs on everything. Even her family’s lawyer, Mr. Sawyer, ensured that Bree knew what was happening with her money and her family’s estates.
