Chapter 41 New Information

  • "Understood," Gerrit replied, leaving the room with Bianca in his arms. He wondered what could possibly be going on. How could she forget who she truly was? He had laid her down once they were back on the plane. He watched over her while she slept, wanting to know so badly what Vera had seen. The questions piled up in his mind, but he now knew why she never felt like she belonged. He also learned that Silvia knew what was going on well before she died. Then there was the fact that Silvia and Sheba never really "died" but more or less had a new life in a different body. Bianca continued to sleep through the flight; he cleaned her face before landing. It was almost like she was sleeping beauty. His plans today were shot, but at least they were back at the longhouse where he could think. He removed her clothing, which would be used for another time, maybe tomorrow. He carefully laid her on the bed and covered her with a blanket. He would find out what was happening somehow, but for now, he needed to know what a sleepwalker was. Gerrit, going into the back, might not have kept technology in here, but when passing the time, he kept books. He never got into reading till after the nineteen hundreds. Then he started collecting books about myths and legends; Gerrit wanted to learn if there was a way to cure himself other than dying. It was a useless attempt, but he had nothing but time. He skimmed through books until he found what he was looking for: Sleepwalkers. A sleepwalker was a rare creature who possessed the same abilities as a vampire but was born with them instead of becoming one. They didn't need blood to survive and could walk in the sunlight. But it came at a price. They were not easy targets for anyone wanting to get rid of them. Like most creatures, they couldn't be killed by silver or fire. They were protected by magic. He continued reading other books, one of which said they were created by magic, while other books barely mentioned the species, only that they were a rarity. He remembered Bianca had mentioned she had found some books; maybe it was time for him to see these books himself.

  • He went to the room where she was resting; she had moved, so he knew whatever Vera had done would be wearing off soon enough. He knew what he would tell her because if Vera were right, Bianca would think she had a very strange dream. He went back to the room and sat next to her, watching her as she slept. He remembered the pure silver medallion; he quickly went into his room where it was kept. He didn't want to believe that something was going to come after Bianca, but he would keep near if in case something did occur. This was coming out of it's case. Bianca opened her eyes, thinking she would wake up in a huge mansion, but found herself in the longhouse. She was trying to remember the last thing; she knew she had entered the private plane, and everything went hazy. She might have been dreaming a very strange dream. She couldn't remember names, and the faces were blurry. She knew not to dwell on such things. She had strange dreams before; however, whenever she was about to open the door, that was when she woke up. She always woke up before opening the door. She truly felt that she was beyond a weirdo now. She was about to ask Gerrit what had happened when she saw the medallion around his neck."What's that for?"
