Chapter 22 Old Flames

• She could still walk away, but patrons were coming out after finishing their time inside. One of the guys in the group held open the door for her, and like a puppet on strings, she went inside the building. Her mind told her to turn around and walk away, but her feet and body wouldn't listen until she stood before him.
• "You made it." He said, smiling smugly at her; even while her eyes flickered for a moment, he could see some molten honey emerging through her bottle-green eyes. No matter how much she had masked herself, he could still see the real her; even if she changed everything about her, she couldn't hide from him.
• "I figured the only way to get rid of you was to have this dinner and get it over with."
