Chapter 47 The Hunt

• It wasn’t long before they were making out, and Gerrit removed Bianca’s top before someone could see what was going on. She was quiet and almost in tears when she saw Gerrit loving someone else. Deputy Emma Vicks had been calling the Sheriff at home, but he didn’t answer the ringing phone. She had decided to drive out to Sheriff’s new home, but what a fool she was. Emma wanted to believe that she was over the sheriff and that she and Cantrell were hitting it off. Now that the Sheriff was no longer single, the others had to move on. However, Emma was crushed seeing the man of her dreams making love to another instead of her. Emma had the urge to take out her gun and use it on Bianca; she, however, didn't know that Bianca had already been turned. Emma just wanted to see Bianca's blood spill out of her, but of course,
• Emma didn't grab her service weapon. Instead, she would do her job, which was giving the sheriff the documents that had just arrived at the station. Although tonight she was crushed, there was always more than one way to skin a cat. She wasn't going to give up on Gerrit. She knew what he was, and though those in the community called him by his real name in private. Everyone outside the town only knew him as Sheriff Bram Dekker.
