Chapter 13 Heart Made Of Stone

  • She was okay with knowing that ever having children wasn't in her future. She never questioned the reasoning of the; she only accepted it. She went to climb off the balcony wall, but because she had been drinking and hadn't moved, she felt herself slipping until she fell onto the ground below her balcony. When her body made a thud hitting the ground hard, she knew she had broken something though she wasn't hurrying to get up. She hoped no one had seen her being drunk and clumsy. She didn't hear anyone coming, and no movements were rushing towards her. Now, she wondered if she should try climbing back up the walls to get to her room or go to the front door, where others still would be hanging around. She tried getting up; instead, she rolled over and fell asleep. She knew she had broken her spine, so it was pointless to try and climb the wall or walk to the front door. It was her only choice, but being drunk was the best solution for the moment. Which was to go to sleep; it was the only choice for her if she wanted to be healed at this point.
  • Gabriel was pacing right outside her room, wondering if he should spend time trying to win her heart, when he heard a shrill coming from within her room, He knew that Dracul wasn't in there, and it didn't sound like it was sexual gratification. Her door was locked, but he was stronger than the door; after he pushed hard against the door, he didn't see her anywhere in the room. He saw the broken bottle; nothing wasn't anything spilled on the floor, just broken glass. He heard a hard thud right outside her door. Even though it wasn't deafening, it was too soft that a human couldn't hear the sound. Once he entered her room, she wasn't anywhere to be seen. He saw the bottle and knew that was where she was. He rushed over to the balcony, then looked down below. That was where he saw her lying on the ground; though she didn't see him, she was trying to get up, but then she had passed out. He left her room and went down the stairs. Others were cleaning up, and the rest of the guards were finishing up their security checks as he hurried down to the front door. Outside temperatures were dropping, and though she was immortal, he wouldn't leave her outside. He could now see why she passed out; her spine and other bones were broken, and her only chance to heal was to sleep. He pulled up the sleeve from his wrist after using his nail to slice an opening into her flesh until he saw her spine. She was completely out when he made the incision into her back. He bit his wrist as the blood spilled onto her back, squeezing more into the opening. Her cut that he had made was the last to be healed, and he had already felt her spine and other bones healing right before his incision was gone. Though she was comatose, it was her body's defense when she got injured. However, he couldn't help but look at her half-naked body with only a long shirt covering her lower half. Exposing her creamy legs, though she hadn't removed her make-up from earlier, it wasn't even smudged. He finally lifted her and then carried her back into the castle. However, others, not knowing what had happened, could smell Brandy off of her.
  • "What happened to her?" One of the guards asked; even though they couldn't see anything because of how Gabriel was carrying her, he wouldn't say what happened. As he walked on, he heard one of the other guards respond by saying some cats don't land on their feet. The others snickered at the comment, but Gabriel didn't stop until she returned to her room. She was sprawled out and still out of it. He sat down in the chair across from her, watching her breath. He had never had a heartbeat and never knew what it meant to be alive, for he was born a vampire. Even though she was very much alive, she was a half vampire, yet he couldn't help but see the innocence on her face though she was like an angel in his eyes. He wanted to hold and make love to her, but the other part of his brain was thinking she didn't want him. He wasn't surprised most women wanted Dracul, not to mention the fact that serving his master rarely ever gave him any free time.
