Chapter 17 Digging Up The Past

• The creature was now on top of the ground though he was right above the creature; it didn't catch the creature's attention. However, Drake could hear the others not too far moving around, and the gluttonous grub went back under, and all traces were no longer present.
• Not knowing what he had just seen, Drake erupted, turned around, and started running back with superhuman speed. Just when he thought the creature was heading toward the team, the creature ruptured through the surface. Everything surrounding the creature exploded, causing Drake to cover himself just as he leaped off the ceiling back onto solid ground.
• The creature blasted itself upward to where Drake had been standing, but luckily for Drake, he had sense enough to keep moving and not look back. The gigantic grub-like creature striking the ceiling with fury missed its meal, but sensing that his prey was still on the run, it dove beneath the surface. Drake took a running start, with a remarkable feat of strength, and launched himself through the opening, sliding on his back while holding up his guns just in case the creature had returned. However, the creature wasn't staring at him with a puzzled look. No, it wasn't the creature at all. Only his superior, Gabriel, and the others were unaware of the dangers lurking nearby. He lowered his weapon, though, at the moment, he couldn't hear anyone as they were asking him what was going on; the pounding of his heart was much too loud as he was trying to speak. Once he got a hold of himself, reminding himself that he was wasting precious seconds, he finally found the right words to say.
