Chapter 56
- I hesitantly followed her, eager to get away from the guards and wash off the sticky blood that had collected under my dress, but also fearful of what I'd discover once I entered this apartment. She'd told me the apartment had been abandoned for centuries, which concerned me. I mean, I wasn't expecting wi-fi or a smart tv, but I'd like to think the apartment would be clean, warm, and equipped with indoor plumbing. I couldn't imagine having to wash in a tin bath or, worse, using a chamber pot like they used to.

I rushed over to the sofa and sank my fingers into the gorgeous fluffiness that was one of the oversized cushions. "This is heaven," I groaned.
- Henrietta laughed "I figured you'd enjoy it. I tried to have this stuff delivered to your original room, but Louis and Luc refused. They clearly don't share our love of beautiful throws and soft...soft angora cushions."
