• "Luc!" I chased after him.
• He ignored me and kept walking towards the bedroom door. With each step he took, my throat tightened. "Luc, wait - " I crawled to the edge of the bed, still clutching my blanket, and called after him.
• But he didn't even turn his head to give me a parting look. He simply walked to his bedroom door, opened it, and quietly shut it behind him. There was no screaming, yelling, or slamming of the door. He simply left.
