Chapter 24

• As the ambulance carrying Laura drove past my dorm hall, the blue flashing lights of the ambulance illuminated my room for a few seconds. After the incident, the dormitory hall supervisors were quickly awakened. Laura's screams had awakened not only the people sleeping on this floor, but also the floors above and below. A few minutes after Laura went catatonic, the entire dorm floor was invaded by several dozen people, all of whom were horrified by the sight of Laura's broken arm.
• When the dormitory hall supervisors arrived after being summoned, an ambulance had already been dispatched and Laura's parents had been notified. Although no one was sure what had happened to Laura. She was the only one peering through my bedroom door, and no one else had seen what had scared her. Laura had been unresponsive when the supervisors and paramedics asked her what had happened. After that, the supervisors went from person to person, trying to figure out what had happened to Laura, but no one knew... except me.
• Laura's arm was caught in the door by the entity that had been standing in my bathroom. It was that thing that had broken Laura's arm bone like a twig. That horrible sound of her bone snapping replayed in my head over and over. My stomach churned uncomfortably, and I tried to swallow whatever sickness I was experiencing.
