• "How come Henrietta is on my college campus if she's a vampire?" Nico was the one who asked.
• We were waiting for my lecturer to figure out how to use the Power Point presentation in the basement lecture theatre. Nico sat beside me, writing with a pen. He moved the pen through his fingers with grace, spiraling it between each of his digits. His movements were so precise that I imagined him practicing with something more lethal, like a knife.
• "Henrietta is Queen because she is married to Luc's brother. "She will want to meet you in order to officially welcome you into the royal fold," Nico said.
