Chapter 27

• I awoke to the sound of Luc breathing softly next to me. As he slept, his warm body curled around mine, his arm wrapped around my waist, holding me close. The events of the previous night seemed a distant memory now, and whatever evil I had witnessed in my bathroom no longer seemed so terrifying now that I was safe and secure in Luc's arms.
• I shifted slightly and heard Luc sigh happily in my ear, "I've been waiting for you to wake up."
• "Were you awake?" I inquired.
