  • Laura Taylor's bloody ghost stood next to Henrietta, staring at me, as Nico and Henrietta spoke to each other directly to the dead girl standing next to them. My throat tightened, and my breathing became short, sharp, shallow, and rapid.
  • Laura's sunken eyes followed my gaze down to her chest. Blood was oozing from her chest cavity, staining the green fabric of her hospital gown. She reached up and touched the wound, then turned to face me and said, "My heart- it's gone..."
