• Lucy’s POV
• “We are werelions but you can’t sense our lions because they were made dormant, masked with magic or something like that. Aunt here at least shifted when she turned eighteen like every lion shifter but as for me I never because mine was made dormant when I was only a year old.” I paused to look at the handsome guy and found him very baffled. “Who did and why?” he couldn’t help but ask. “Aunt! For a good course. To prevent our enemies from discovering us…” I continued the story without leaving anything out and he looked speechless by the time I stopped. “Phew!” that’s all that came out of his mouth. He paused for a while as if deep in thought. “We have heard of the great kingdom of the West and what happened to them but the story was that every royal was annihilated. Our Leo was so sad about it for some time.” Okay, now that’s interesting. ‘So the fearful king knows about our family? Maybe it won’t be that hard to find favor before his eyes.’ I thought and must I say that actually gave me a little strength and hope. “Young man, can you help us reach the kingdom?” Auntie asked. “Reaching the Kingdom is not a problem but the problem is going through the land of the giants. I was confused, was that the only way to reach the kingdom? “What do you mean?” I asked him. His eyes met mine and I thought I saw a familiar emotion through them. I ignored it. It’s normal to get attracted to a beautiful girl anyway, and there isn’t anything wrong with it. I pushed it aside.
• “I mean that it is the only way to go through. Though they allow us to pass through freely, some of them have a history of eating humans.” He said it with a pained look. “With you smelling like humans, it will be a battle.” He sighed. Tremor gripped my heart. I had never been this fearful my entire life. ‘They eat humans? What are these creatures? Are they even more fearful than lions?’ I trembled. Just a few moments ago I was bragging of being human but I’m not so proud of being one right now. “But we aren’t human. In fact our mission here is to reverse the spell and get our lions back.” Aunt protested. “Do you think they will sit around and listen to your story like I did? In fact even if by some miracle they listened, they will not believe it because it is well known here that your family was all killed. No one around the magic forest will believe that you truly are the Fosters. I face palmed. If maybe we only brought our IDs along. “What do we do then? We can’t go back without completing the mission. Please help us if there is any way you can.” I pleaded. He looked at me and I swear I saw that emotion again before he averted his eyes. I just pushed it aside and waited for his response, maybe I’m just thinking too much he isn’t interested in me.
