• There was an uproar of jubilation and shouts of joy all over the celebration grounds. It had been decades without a Queen, and the people were ecstatic to finally see their King’s second-chance mate. Since finding true mates wasn’t easy these days—so many ended up settling for chosen mates—the miracle of a second chance felt sacred. It wasn’t unheard of, but it was rare, and perhaps because of the royal bloodline, the gods had favored the King once again.
• The King reached for his mate’s hand and pulled her gently to his side. The way they looked at each other spoke of fate reclaiming what had been lost. When he wrapped his arms around her, the crowd erupted again, their cheers echoing like thunder across the golden plains of Badosa. Everyone was happy, relieved, hopeful.
