• Zeus was livid. Furious that Lucy remained in some kind of coma, and even angrier that someone had told her I wasn’t human. We still didn’t know who it was. But what made him seethe most was the rejection we both felt from my parents—especially my mother. They were clearly dismissing Lucy, but with a thin veil of civility. It was all in how my mother kept calling her the human.
