• Two days after arriving in my kingdom, I was ready to address Lucy’s issue. If the Brattons had done something illegal, they needed to be punished. If Lucy was the sole heir to the Northern Kingdom of Prides, then she—or in this case, her Aunt, as the eldest—needed to take her rightful place.
• I planned to inform the council of elders, the Senate. Some kingdoms chose to ignore the council’s laws, doing as they pleased, but the Senate still held power to control them—if evidence was presented. Some hid their misdeeds well, threatening subjects not to speak or provide proof to outsiders.
