Chapter 86 The Garden Talk
- Katty’s POV
- I didn’t know why I was feeling so brave all of a sudden, but something about my mate’s touch and presence seemed to draw the courage out of me. It was as though his very aura breathed strength into my timid heart. Every time his skin brushed against mine, tiny sparks of electricity surged through me — soft, warm, and almost hypnotic. They weren’t painful; if anything, they were deliciously pleasant, spreading heat across my skin and setting my heart racing.
- My mind wandered back to one of those lazy weekends with the girls, when we lounged around talking about mates, fate, and destiny. I remembered Nelly laughing as she told us how she had confronted her mate that day — how she felt sparks too, but only after her mask had been removed. I had been puzzled at the time, wondering why Tom’s lion hadn’t felt the connection earlier if she was truly his fated mate. After all, he wasn’t masked. Back then, it had seemed like a story out of some romantic fantasy — two people bound by fate yet unable to recognize each other.
