Chapter 96 Her Awakening 2
- Katty’s POV
- “Whenever you want,” were the words that came from my newly found father’s lips — calm, firm, yet layered with emotions he couldn’t completely hide. I told him I would like to start by tomorrow. The day had already slipped into evening, and the soft hum of dinner preparations filled the palace corridors. I could smell roasted meat and herbs from the kitchens below, but I wasn’t hungry. I asked them to excuse me, saying I needed some time alone to process everything that had just unfolded.
- They all nodded understandingly and began filing out of the room one by one. I wasn’t only doing it for myself — though I did feel emotionally drained — but because I wanted my parents to also have time to speak privately. They needed it more than I did. There were years of silence, separation, and pain between them. My father might have tried to hide it behind that stoic mask of his, but love was written all over his face. Even if the mate pull played its part, the longing in his eyes said more than words ever could. He was angry, yes — but not enough to stay away from my mother for long.
