Chapter 47 Embarking on the Adventure

• Lucy’s POV
• I didn’t know how to describe my emotions but they were fluctuating between nervousness, fear of the unknown, and excitement. Yes of course I was a bit excited, in anticipation of getting the second challenge over with. Today was the first day the schools opened. If I tell you I haven’t been thinking about Kenneth I’ll be lying. I miss him so much but I do everything in my powers to avoid thinking too much about him. I wonder how I’m going to look at him once we are done here by next week. Auntie had already contacted the University to let them know I will come two weeks later, she told them I wasn’t well and have been hospitalized. Aunt Malena gave us all the instructions. She had conveniently printed them out for us. We set off. There was a portal created that sucked us in as soon as we stepped near it. It was as easy as entering the house door but we were met with completely different realm. It was breathtakingly beautiful. “Wow! I could live here all my life. It looks gorgeous.” Aunt gushed. “It sure is beautiful, but I don’t think I would want living here all my life considering what creatures Malena mentioned are here?” I countered. “Well, aren’t we creatures ourselves?” she reminded me.
• “Well, you know about that life, I don’t Auntie. As far as I’m concerned I’m human.” I said. “Wow! You are human? A human in our world? That’s… reckless!” a very handsome young man sprouted out of nowhere scaring me to death. I jumped and hid behind Aunt. I wondered what more we will encounter if people, well creatures are going to sprout from thin air like that. “Who are you young man and what do you want?” Aunt Maggie asked still shielding me. “Oh, please forgive my manners, I’m Lance, I’m a werelion.” He introduced himself. I relaxed a bit and came from behind my aunt. He was really cute but not as handsome as my Kenneth, oops, he isn’t mine anymore. He is still very handsome though. “I’m Margaret, this is my baby, Lucy.” Aunt introduced. He eyed me a bit, I blushed from his stare. “You just said you are human, why would humans be in Badosa?” he asked cocking his eyebrows. “Oh don’t mind her, we aren’t human either.” Aunt said. “You aren’t human?” he asked excitedly but soon put on a serious face. “Pray tell, what are you then? You don’t smell like any of the creatures here. In fact you smell human to me.” He said with a serious face. “So you know about humans? How? Since there are no humans here?” I asked my eyes intently fixed on his. His eyes flashed a darker black for a second but returned to their hazel with golden streaks. “Of course I do know about humans. Sometimes we get sent to the human world for missions...” there was rattling in the nearby bushes, he glanced that way and said “that’s all I can say.” We nodded as we didn’t want to intrude.
