Chapter 59 Surprise Appearance

• Lucy’s POV
• Nelly was so thrilled to see me again. “Girl! You had me worried and I was now thinking the worst. People have been talking and I just didn’t know what to think anymore. Where have you been? You look different, your aura has changed a lot.” She spout out. “I had to be away for a while girl. I had been working out that’s all.” I said, not trying to go into many details. She is human you know, so I have to be careful how I say things. ‘Are you sure she is human?’ Lira quipped and I suppressed her not wanting for her to show up. She is supposed to be masking herself, why is she peeping? Peeping Tom! ‘I am fully masked. They can only feel our aura but they can’t smell or feel our presence. I can still talk to you or you can close me out by flipping your mind.’ She said and boy was I happy she told me about that option. I immediately flipped my mind, closing her out in the process and hearing her whimper. I smiled. “Nelly, meet my other best friend Katty! She is more like my cousin. She is new and going to do her first year in Pharmacology.” I said pointing at Katty. She is a very shy girl but she appeared comfortable around Nelly. “Nice to meet you Nel. You look amazing. Is it okay if I call you Nel?” I was surprised by her confidence. ‘Okay? So this girl can be outspoken if she wants?’ I thought to myself. “Wow! Thanks for the compliment. You look great too and yes you can call me Nel.” She beamed. My friend lives for compliments. “I like her already” Nelly said as she turned around facing me. We all chuckled. I remember how she didn’t like Patricia from the beginning and never hid it. We chatted for a bit and we told her we needed to go and collect our bags from home and we would be back in the evening.
• Leaving the dormitory, we went to take a taxi and left. When getting home, I started packing my stuff. Katty’s bag was still packed. However, she needed a few things to take to the school. “Why do you say Nelly is human?” she asked. “Huh?” I said, puzzled. I had opened my mind and let Lira freely interact with me. ‘Ah ha!’ she exclaimed. I was confused. Has I perhaps been wrong about Nelly as she might have been about me too? “Why do you say so? Is she not human? I asked. “She certainly is not. She is not entirely witch but she has some light witch aura and lion aura. She does mask her scents well but I’m sure she can smell other’s scents.” Katty said. Wow! This is a twist of the plot. Here I was worried about how I was going to keep my secret from someone who was already like me? I shrugged. “Looks like she does mask very well then. Phew! I was racking my mind wondering how I would keep Lira hidden, meanwhile the girl is just like me! Wow!” I said. I truly would not have suspected her to be something else at all. We went to the mall, and got a few stuff we will need back at school.
