• I grabbed my backpack and hurried out of my room. I had told mom that I would go with her today, which surprised her a lot since I usually went with Kayler. She didn't ask any more questions. I went down to the living room and saw her finishing her coffee.
• "Will you be done soon? It's getting late," I said.
• At 7:00 Kayler would be waiting for me at the soccer field to tell me some things. I didn't know what would happen today, and Anne didn't even call me to give me a reason or anything. I imagine she's devastated, just like I was.
