• After breakfast, we decided to change and head to the forest in search of that mysterious lake. I decided to wear a pair of blue pants that hugged my body, cotton boots that reached almost to my knees, a tank top, then another long-sleeved shirt, and finally my jacket. I combed my hair, leaving it loose, and then put on my wool cap. In other words, I looked in the mirror and I looked like a little girl.

• I walked out into the hallway, since Thomas had gone to change in his room, and I stopped in front of his door. Should I knock? Maybe he's taking a shower, or maybe he's getting dressed right now, or maybe he's not even there and I'm just being silly.
