Chapter 301

  • The next day I woke up like any other day of the week, feeling a bit tired from the activities of the previous day. However, I had to get back to my daily chores at home and also rehearse with the band. We had a concert at a bar in the city in a week, and we needed to finish preparing the last song we had released. It was a simple song, but lately it seemed to be hitting hard on the radios. I got out of bed and did some stretching of my neck, shoulders, and limbs. I was in my underwear, so I approached the closet to find some casual clothes for the rehearsal. Luckily, I found a white shirt that fit me well, along with black shorts and some Converse shoes. My day was quite stressful, and the only thing that relieved the stress was practicing with my band. I played the bass, and many people who saw me play for the first time were amazed by my skill. I wanted to do something different, as I believe that most of my family members played some kind of instrument. Things were going well in that aspect, but I still had the memory of what had happened yesterday at that company. I hoped to never see that girl again, to show that not only men can be, in quotes, "perverts."
  • "Good morning, James," my mother was making scrambled eggs, and I could tell because she usually used a lot of onions to fry them. I had gotten used to her way of cooking since I was a child, so now when I went to a friend's house and they served me food, it felt very different from my mom's. "Are you going to eat or just have some juice before you leave?" she asked while stirring the pan.
  • "Don't worry, mother, I have plenty of time," I observed the wall clock in the living room and realized I had about an hour before practice. I would eat calmly without any pressure. "I'll wait a bit, mother, but tell me, how long does this breakfast usually last?"
