Moments like these she wished a divine intervention would happen to take away their focus from her, but no such thing happened and their curious gaze remained on her.
She giggled nervously as her mind wandered to the first day she ran into his office with the diamond necklace while being chased by the police. She remembered him calling out to her and asking her what she was looking for. She remembered how intense his green gaze was even as they settled on hers and how despite not knowing her, related to her with a slight difference. He didn't judge her based on the state he found her, not with his words and certainly not his actions. He was a principled and hard man, it didn't start today and she remembered how he demanded she handed the diamond to him before telling her to go hide away.
He saved her the first day they met and the last thing he deserved was her stealing from him, but that was what she ended up doing.
