Chapter 98

• Alicia climbed out of the car, and she smiled at Margaret, who was trying to keep her excitement in. When she had told her three days ago that she would be staying in the palace for a while, she had seen the dejected look on her face and had laughed before telling her that she would be coming with her. Margaret had thought that she was pulling her legs, until yesterday, when she asked her if she was done preparing. She was sure that Margret still didn’t believe her until she boarded the car with them this morning.
• The servants greeted them as they passed, and on entering the palace, they saw Amelia, Grace, Donald, and Susan waiting for them in the living room.
• “Alicia,” Grace stood up and hugged her, surprising Alicia because she didn’t know when they became good friends. “I’ve missed you.”
