Chapter 10

Alicia stopped on her spot; she couldn’t get herself to continue moving. Just then, someone brushed past her and straight into Leo’s arms. A quick look and she knew it was Joy, she turned back and saw Mary smiling as she walked past her too to her son. None of them seemed surprised to see him with an unknown woman, for all it’s worth, it looked like they were already aware of her existence because the way Joy was talking with the woman proved it. Mary too, after hugging Leo turned and talked to the woman, and even hugged her. Their attitude proved that they were indeed aware that Leo was coming back today and they chose to let her be a fool, the Luna of the pack, and prepared a welcome home party in disguise of throwing a birthday party for her.
Leo’s eyes came to her once more and she smiled but it was obvious it didn’t reach her eyes. She saw Leo sigh and say something to the woman and she glanced at her, their eyes met and Alicia saw experience in the woman’s eyes, no doubt she was older than she was, either the same age as Leo or a year or two younger. Leo started approaching her then and she waited for him, her arms crossed on her chest.
When he got closer to her, he stopped, his hands in his back pockets as he rocked on his feet. “Hi.”
