Chapter 80

  • Alicia stared at him. It was finally making sense: his confidence when he was talking about being faithful to her, and how he would not have another wife as long as they were married. He knew what he was doing, and the fact that he made her look like a fool worrying unnecessarily about when his mate would show up both embarrassed and annoyed her. Using her other hand, she gave him a knock on the head, and he frowned, staring at her with wide eyes. “That was for making me feel like a fool the day you proposed.”
  • Shawn chuckled, but before he could escape from her, she pinched him hard on his hand that was holding hers. “And that was for suggesting a contract marriage,” she said. This time, he laughed so loudly, his deep masculine voice filled the whole car, and surprisingly, her body reacted violently to it.
  • “You should have seen your face,” Shawn said, still laughing. “Oh, how I longed that day for when you would find out. You were so hell bent on me finding my mate.”
