Chapter 175
- Alicia didn’t know if Bryan had a bottomless pit in his stomach or something, but they had visited more food stalls than she could count. They had chosen food stalls because Bryan said he had been dining in different restaurants since he was in the East, and nothing they served seemed that different from what he used to have, and so, the food stalls in the market square were the best place to taste the local dishes.
- Although the East was made up of one hundred different packs, there was a market square built on three acres of land that was for all pack members to do as they wished in it. So different pack members owned businesses and offices there. The Stone family dominates at least half of the businesses. It was how the Stones got their wealth because Albert, Alicia’s father, had been the one who brought up the idea for the market square and saw to it that it was constructed. It was how the Stone family generated their wealth.
- Watching the joy that covered Bryan’s face as he ate a roasted skewer, Alicia wondered if perhaps she had been the one looking down at the night food stalls in the market square and not truly seeing the joy in it. She made a mental note instantly to bring Shawn to the night market the next time he visited.
