Chapter 110

• Shawn and Theo waited in the car on the expressway. Theo kept drumming his fingers on the steering wheel while Shawn stared out the window. Shawn had given the order to wipe out the security footage of taking Dan to the Shadow pack, just in case the council demanded it. As the one in charge of security, he can provide whatever he wants, but just in case Janet or someone tries to find out on their own, he has to make everything look perfect.
• A lot had happened in this one night, and he really hoped that he wouldn’t be thrown back into the pitch of the dark again. The light he sees now may not be bright, but it was something, and he would hate to lose it all. All his bets now are on Dan; he just hopes the man will do something right for once by telling him what he wants to know. He had refrained from telling Alicia about Dan because he wanted her to react perfectly when she sees him in the council tomorrow, that way, she could reveal Dan’s deeds. It was another plan for him, when Dan’s murder of the Stones family would be revealed by Alicia tomorrow, whoever finds something linking to him taking Dan to Shadow Pack, it would only point to the fact that he was doing it for his fiancée. Though it would still be an offense but the reason would already be justified.
• However, if his speculation is right, tonight might be the only chance he would get to interrogate Dan, as Janet or someone might kill him in the council after tomorrow. Meaning, Donald would not even be able to schedule a meeting time for him with Dan. Everything boils down to tonight, this one-hour drive to the council.
