Chapter 120
- Alicia and Amelia avoided the people in the woods as much as they could. Finally, they could see the highway. If they could just make it to it, they could run home successfully. However, the problem lies in whether they wouldn’t be waiting for them on the highway. But inasmuch as the fear was there, they couldn’t just hide in the woods. Alicia knew that the only reason they had not been found was because the people were carrying silver dust, and so their wolf senses were blocked by it. If they eventually decided to turn into their wolves and search for them, with how tired Amelia was getting, it would be hard to escape them. So, the best way was to escape now that they weren’t serious.
- Having trained most time in the woods in the Bloodstone pack, Alicia knew how to navigate in woods, and though the woods they were in were unfamiliar to her, she was still able to keep them hidden. After walking and hiding for another hour, they finally made it to the highway. The sun was setting, and the highway was getting lonelier. Running on the highway will leave them in plain sight, but it was the only way to lead them home. If she decided that they should take the woods, they might end up getting lost that even Shawn would find it hard to locate them.
- At the moment, she could only hope that they could make it, and also, if it came to combat, they wouldn’t be any of those people immune to silver like her. Right now, the only thing she has to worry about is how Amelia would react seeing her immune to silver and if she could keep the secret for her. Their lives depend on it; maybe she would?
