• “Why would they have us tied up here? What are they after?” Grace asked, she was scared, and it was obvious on her face and in her words.
• “There is only one reason: they are holding us hostage,” Amelia answered. “The King is not in the palace, and neither is the Shadow Lord. They are acting quietly, not to alert the royal guards. The fact that I was kidnapped points to two facts: either my guards were killed or they are in on it.”
• Alicia glanced at her, impressed by her calm expression and how good she was at quick thinking. Indeed, she would love to be friends with her, but she doubts if it would be possible. “That’s plausible. But the real question is, what are they after?” Alicia asked.
