• Shawn watched Donald; he didn’t say a word, and Donald drank from his glass, nearly emptying it. He stood up and refilled it, sat back down on his chair, and glanced at Shawn. “I can remember the time you were afraid of some people,” Shawn said. “That was before you became King. You were so scared of them that you were willing to become a puppet for them just to be alive.”
• Donald sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. “Our uncles,” he glanced at Shawn. “You climbed into my room through the window after I met with them, and you asked me if they scared me. I said yes, and you asked if I want you to take care of them. I said yes, and within seven days, they all turned up dead.”
• “Indeed,” Shawn replied, his eyes showing no emotion. “And look what happened after, you became the King without a worry in the world, and no one dared challenge you. And you have been an excellent King since then. Now, you fear the council like you feared our uncles. And if you want me to, I can still offer the same services I did back then.”
