Chapter 160

  • Alicia sat in the private booth for the royal family. Donald was seated high on his throne, but unlike before, he didn’t look like the intimidating King that he used to. His eyes were hollow, and black circles were visible under his eyes even from where she sat. His cheekbones were popping out, like makeup had been used to make them pop. He looked so pale that Alicia wondered if he was sick and was refusing to have a doctor look after him.
  • On the other side of the booth were seated Susan and Grace. They were both crying, but for some reason, apart from her tear-stricken face and her slightly pale face, Grace looked no different than before. Alicia had noticed something wrong with her from the night of the birthday, but she had refused to dwell on it; after all, there was no way Grace would hurt Cody. Not only is he her son, but he was her only child. What gain could a mother possibly have that she would kill her own child? So, she had waved the thought out of her mind, because even though it was glaring that, should anything happen to Amelia, she would be the one to gain the most, she just couldn’t hurt her own child.
  • However, everything changed with Amelia’s strange request last night. For Amelia to request that could only prove that she may have seen something, or was suspecting something. And right now, Alicia was wondering if perhaps they hadn’t found the culprit because they had been looking in the wrong place?
