• Shawn stood at the window, watching what was going on down in the street. The arrest was to be carried out secretly and swiftly. He didn’t even tell Donald about it, wanting only a few people to know.
• “What a perfect place to hide, no one would have thought about looking for him here,” Theo said, coming up beside him.
• “Mm,” Shawn answered. Dan was hiding in the ghetto district, an area in the North region where wolves without packs settle, or refugees. There were all sorts of lifestyles there, and because there was no alpha, it was a lawless place; everyone was free to live as they wanted. The only law the King bestowed on them was that they were not to let their lifestyle leave the district. Occasionally, shadow soldiers would show up, just to let them know that they are still being watched, even though they are free to act as they wanted.
