Chapter 99
- Dante
- I was patrolling around the pack borders.
- The woods were a little quiet except for the occasional snapping of twigs under my boots. The warriors had reported no unusual activity around the borders but I still had to see for myself. Adrian - the rogue who'd gotten away during the first attack - had been a little too silent, and I wanted to make sure it wasn't because he'd found a hidden entrance and exit in and out of the pack. I couldn't help but think about the mating ceremony and how badly it had gone. The look on Bianca's face when she realized I truly wouldn't continue with the mating ceremony hadn't been one of hurt, much to my surprise. She'd been shocked, bewildered -I might even have detected a hint of anger in her gaze, but she hadn't been hurt about my decision.
