Chapter 146
- Isabel
- Satisfied, I stepped outside, making sure Estelle was properly covered before I began making my way toward the center of the pack. Dante and Jacob were away from the pack on some assignment he'd promised me I was better off not knowing. The pack was peaceful as I walked, the streets livelier than they had been in weeks, with more people stepping out and reclaiming their routines. It was almost like Henry and Bianca had never existed in the pack. Warriors were stationed at key points, keeping a careful watch over the territory.

But after the attack, the place had been nearly abandoned—people avoiding it as if it carried the ghosts of that night. Now, things were changing. Pups ran through the grass, their laughter carrying through the air as their parents kept a watchful eye on them. A few elders sat at the benches, engaged in soft conversations. I even spotted a few of the older pups holding hands and flirting with each other.
