• We sat for a while longer, talking about the search, about what little information we had. Minutes later, I walked them to the door. Lara hugged me before leaving, and Damon gave my shoulder a firm squeeze. When the door shut behind them, I let out a slow breath. I had to take a shower before going out. One quick bath and then - and then another knock. I exhaled a breath, turning around to find Bianca and Lila standing outside, their expressions drawn. I let them in without a word. “Anything?” Bianca asked immediately. They both knew better than to try to soothe me with empty words.
• I shook my head. “Nothing. No sign of Henry. No sign of Isabel.”
