- Now that I’d finally gotten my head and my mind clear, I was likely to come up with a better plan of escaping. I shrugged off Louisa’s compliment, accepting the food she handed me.
- I began eating as she went about her routine cleaning. “Tell me about the members of the werewolf council.” I requested after a few minutes. She met my eyes warily, probably wondering what I wanted to do with the information. I smiled a little apologetically, recalling that I’d gotten her in trouble the last time. Crossing my fingers over my chest, I tried to wordlessly communicate that I meant no harm. And I didn’t, for the most part. I wasn’t sure any knowledge of the council members could help me escape, but I figured it was better to not be taken by surprise.
