• I walked around the room in my wolf form, taking note of Lila and Jade's shocked expressions. My heart crashed against my rib cage in fear as I bounced my gaze from one person to the other. Why weren't they saying anything? I had hoped they would have an answer to give, that the reason behind the color change of my fur wouldn't be something so unusual after all, but with each second that passed, it became obvious it was something extremely unusual. So unusual it might even be a cause for alarm. Lila gestured for me to go behind one of the curtains in her shop and shift back. I immediately did as asked. She pulled the curtain slightly to the side, and handed me some neat clothes.
• I accepted the clothes from her, putting them on while trying to get a hold of my thoughts. It didn't matter what might be wrong with me; I still didn't know these people and I couldn't let them see how scared I was. I strained my ears but I couldn't pick up on the conversation they were having. I could only make out the tone, but not the words. I took a deep breath, reigning in my emotions before stepping out. Lila, Jade and Dante were hurdled together, but they immediately broke away when I arrived. My heartbeat picked up even more at the guarded expression on their faces. "What's wrong?" I asked gently.
