- "I think we should be patient with her," Jade said softly. Our heads immediately whipped to her direction. I'd urged her to keep Isabel's presence in the pack a secret, but not from the council members who I had known I had to tell one way or the other. Just as I'd asked the council to keep the needs of Isabel's presence from the rest of the pack. "Not only does she not have her wolf to help her get by, I also think she's in shock." Shock? There was no way she was in shock. "I don't think she's come to terms with everything that-"
- The sound of a cellphone going off made her pause mid sentence. Thorne raised a finger, digging into his pocket with his other hand. While our meetings could be spontaneous, we made sure to delegate our responsibilities to a few designated members of the pack. That way our responsibilities weren't completely left unattended while we bounced ideas amongst ourselves and tried to solve whatever problem the pack was facing. We were never reached out unless it was an emergency, which was Thorne's ringtone that had us all stiffening.
