- I went back to dusting, but as my brush moved over the surfaces, I couldn't help thinking that maybe it wasn't just the photo. Maybe it was something more. The way he didn't talk about her, the way he didn't seem to have anyone else around. I hadn't seen him with any other woman. Not really, not romantically. I'd noticed some undercurrents between Bianca and him, but surely I'd been mistaken. There was no way he didn't know better than to mate with her. We hadn't had an actual conversation since I got to the pack, but somehow I'd already gotten the vibe that she didn't want me around the pack.
