• I watched her read the paper after I skillfully put it down. Though her heart was still pounding, I could feel its rhythm going slower until it calmed down. “Who are you and why won’t you show up if you really are a friend?” she said to me and I quickly scribbled down another note and put it down.
• “Because I am your guardian angel, like I said before. I am not allowed to show myself yet!” she read it out loud and scoffed, shaking her head. “I don’t know if you expect me to believe you!” she said nonchalantly.
