Chapter 105 Overwhelming Emotions

  • Malena's POV
  • Looking right into my daughter's eyes, I knew she was telling the truth. A cold spread at lightning speed from my waist up to my spine to the neck. The hairs on my neck and head stood up and I became numb. “I wish I could wake up from this nightmare! How do I share my DNA with such a person?” I asked no one in particular, sighing too loudly. “Do you know what makes it worse?” I continued, looking in between Katty and my friend "What does?" they both asked at the same time. "The fact that she didn't choose that path but a curse was laid on her," I said and the look of sympathy on their faces couldn't go unnoticed. I sighed heavily. 'I guess she will be expecting me to reach out to her now that she knows I know. But how do I by-pass the bad encounter I had with her at the Academy?' I thought to myself. “Earth to Malena!” I came back to reality when Maggie snapped her fingers in front of me saying those words. I sighed again. “Mom, what are you going to do about the fact that your twin sister is the opposite of you? Will you go see her or not?” Katty asked and I had no answer to her question. As overwhelmed by the revelation I just got, I couldn't make any decision at that moment. I only shrugged. My head was already pounding. “I have to go home and think!” I said as I stood to leave. I could have teleported but I chose to walk. I needed that walk to clear my headache. I Wondered if it was possible to reverse her curse. Mayi is a very powerful wizard who is well known because he has double the powers. Can't he reverse this curse and maybe help me to get my sister back? The only relative that I have, besides Katty. I pondered over this as I was walking home.I wished I was a lion at that moment because I would have shifted and run my lungs out until I could smell blood from inside my chest. We are only blessed with teleporting ability, not shape shifting. Even Though dark witches and wizards can take other people's form, it is not a desirable act amongst us and it is considered immoral. I got home and took a chair to sit in the backyard and thought about how to see my newly discovered sister who is not really pleasant to be around.'If Indeed we are sisters, we do share the same DNA, and if she is this evil, could she harm me also?' I wondered. I debated about going to meet her but ended up feeling I should really think about the consequences first." Hey babe!" Mayi's voice sounded. I looked up at him and he prompted me to stand up to hug me. "I guess she told you?" he broke the hug asked. I nodded.“I don't know what to do. I had an unpleasant encounter with her back at the Acade…” He cut my words. “What? You have already met her but never told me?” he asked in a loud voice. I wondered why he seemed pissed off, his eyes darkening. Was it because they have been enemies for long? I squinted my eyes and faced him. “There never was a time that forced us to talk about her. How would I have suddenly talked about someone that I had long forgotten? That was more than twenty years ago, Mayi,” I responded and his eyes softened a bit. “I would love to see her and hear from her…” Once again, he couldn't let me finish my words. “No!” he growled as if protecting me. I knew it was not him but his lion. But I wondered why his lion would be so angry at the mention of wanting to see my twin sister. Once again, his behavior seemed off. I mean,I know that they are sworn enemies but his over protectiveness stemmed from something else. “Why did you say no?” I asked him, folding my hands while looking at him intently. He averted his eyes and looked as if he was hiding something from me but when he realized that I noticed, he changed his expression. “Uhm, it's nothing, I just don't want you to associate with that evil woman, she is bad news,” he said but that didn't satisfy my curiosity . “Is that all?” I asked, my arms still folded. “What else could it be?” he asked but still not looking at me which showed me he was lying. You see, aas his mate, I break his defense mechanism and he is usually unable to put them up or mask his emotions against me.He has only been able to block my thought reading ability from him but I'm working on training myself to unblock myself whenever he tries to block me in the future. “You tell me Mayi! Clearly there is more to the enmity part,” I said with a serious tone. “Will you let me know or are you planning on keeping stuff from your mate?” I said, with a little manipulation to my voice to sound disappointed. He whipped his face to face me and held my shoulders . "Babe, no! Why would you think of something like that?" he said. "Then what is it Mayi? You either know something that made your lion come forth and refuse me to go meet my sister or you are hiding something from me, what is it?” I asked further and he sighed.“Remember when you were so angry at me because I didn't tell you we were mates at the Academy? I thought we agreed never to keep anything from each other,” I said with a serious face. “Fine, I'll tell you!" he said in a weary tone. 'What was it that was so heavy for him to say?' I wondered.
