Chapter 88 The Secret Is Out

• Silence was all she heard coming from the other end of the line. Eliza quickly determined that it must have been a wrong number since the caller wasn’t speaking. Right before she tapped on her screen to end the call, a woman’s pleasant voice sounded. “This is Cody’s phone. Who are you?” she uttered calmly.
• Eliza snapped out of her dreamlike state and was fully awake the moment she heard the person’s words. Her heart was thundering in her chest as she couldn’t believe what she had just done—she had picked up Cody’s phone by accident. When she lowered the phone to glance at the caller’s name, she was so frustrated at herself that she nearly slammed her head against the wall. It was a call from Yvonne. Eliza held her breath as she realized how awkward of a situation she was in right then.
• The woman on the other end of the call clearly had no intention of letting her off the hook so easily either. “Your voice sounds really familiar.” The phone nearly fell out of Eliza’s hand as she trembled, but she managed to grab the phone before it fell onto the bed. She was too afraid to say anything then. Eliza had an extremely distinct appearance and voice that made her easily recognizable by others. She didn’t have a voice as high-pitched and annoying as Kim Kardashian’s, but her voice had a sophisticated tone and texture that formed a significant part of her identity. There were multiple occasions in the past where others would recognize her based on her voice and not her face when she was in her full traditional costume for her filming.
