Chapter 41 Cody the Lurker

• “Yeah?” Eliza responded naturally, but Cody didn’t continue to speak. She had just lifted her head, but Cody was already standing right in front of her. The distance between them was close—it was so close that they could clearly hear the other’s heartbeat and sense their breaths.
• Cody was a whole head taller than her, so Eliza always had to crane her neck every time she saw him. Meanwhile, Cody just needed to tilt his head down to see Eliza clearly.
• Such a dynamic—as Eliza frequently chuckled self-deprecatingly to herself—was like their relationship. She would always be a lowly person on the bottom of the totem pole, whereas Cody would always be at the apex.
