• "What?" Serena screeched as her eyeballs threatened to pop out of her sockets. "You cannot be serious! It is too soon." Serena's heart slammed against her chest with such force that she feared it would burst out of her chest.
• "I was not asking for your opinion," Adriano replied nonchalantly as he fiddled with the unlit cigar in his hand. The calm on his face unnerved Serena. He was messing with her life, and he was so calm and unaffected.
