• Serena stumbled into the mansion just as the first rays of sunlight slipped through the high windows. She was completely exhausted. She hadn't slept a wink the previous night. She and Anna had stayed up the entire night, binging not one, but two full seasons of *Too Hot to Handle*, drinking a little too much wine, and laughing loudly at cringe-worthy scenes.
• Now, with her head pounding and her limbs aching, all she wanted to do was collapse into bed and sleep for the rest of the day. She made her way up the stairs sluggishly, each step feeling heavier than the last. Her eyes were already closing as she reached the hallway, and she let out a long, tired yawn.
• As she got to the top of the stairs, she saw one of the house staff and called the woman over. "Has Adriano gone?" she asked quietly.
