Chapter 171 Don't Touch Me

• Serena cried all the way back to the mansion. Her face was buried in her palms, her shoulders trembling as the sobs came one after another. She hadn't expected Anna to slam the door on her like that. Even if she had hurt her, she had hoped, desperately, that Anna would at least listen. But she hadn't, and that stung more than she could put into words.
• Not that she blamed Anna. Even if Anna had asked her to explain herself and tell her why she told Martin off, Serena still could not tell her that Martin was a snake because then Martin would expose her to Adriano, which was way worse.
• Mike said nothing the whole drive, but she could see him staring at her through the rearview mirror. She could not even bring herself to feel ashamed for crying in front of a stranger because she would rather Mike saw her cry than for Adriano or, worse, Love, to see her crying.
